The Voluntary and Community Sector
The partners within the GPP recognise the key role that voluntary and community groups play in delivering the aspirations of the Community Strategy and the outcomes and targets in the Local Area Agreement.
To reflect that role the GPP has allocated at least a third of the places on its main Board to representatives of the voluntary and community sectors. It has also established a Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Reference Group to ensure that the sector is fully involved in all aspects of the development, delivery and performance management of the Local Area Agreement.
The Group is currently chaired by Lindsey Burrows-McGill, Chief Executive of Bridgegate Drugs Service. Membership is open to any VCS group working in Peterborough. The Group elects four of its members annually to sit on the main GPP Board. For details of this year's elections click here.
The Peterborough Compact is a key aspect of our Local Area Agreement - acting as a governane document for the way we interact as partners. The LAA contains targets about take up and effectiveness of our Compact.
