Growth Partnership

The Peterborough Growth Partnership fulfils the function of the economic development arm of Greater Peterborough Partnership; it has responsibility for the growth outcomes in the Sustainable Community Strategy, Sub-Regional Economic Strategy and Local Area Agreement.

Its roles include overseeing the development of key economic strategies and ensuring joined-up working between public sector agencies and the private and voluntary sectors.  The Growth Partnership provides a forum for private sector input to this work and it acts as a co-ordinating mechanism for public sector engagement with local businesses. Work is carried alongside Opportunity Peterborough’s engagement work and as a vehicle for private sector engagement within the Greater Peterborough Partnership.

Peterborough’s contribution to the region’s economy is recognised in the Regional Economic Strategy 2008-2031; Peterborough is identified as one of the region’s ‘engines for growth’.  Accordingly, the Growth Partnership works with the East of England Development Agency to promote and develop the city’s contribution to the region’s prosperity.  It is supported in this work by its Housing, Adult Learning & Skills, Business Support & Enterprise and City Marketing sub-groups.
