Play Partnership
The Peterborough Play Partnership brings together representatives from a range of organisations and disciplines to drive forward the play agenda across the city. The partnership, by implementing and monitoring the Play Strategy 2007-2012, strives to improve the provision, increase the accessibility and promote the benefits of play to residents and visitors to Peterborough. The Peterborough Play Partnership reports directly into the Enjoy and Achieve Partnership (part of the Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership).
Peterborough Play Partnership Vision The health and well being of Peterborough’s children and young people will be improved by imaginative and dynamic provision and management of spaces and opportunities for play. |
Definition of Play
“Play is what children and young people do when they follow their own ideas, in their own way and for their own reasons. Through play children explore social, material and imaginary worlds and their relationship with them, as well as experimenting with various ways of responding to the challenges their play provides”.
