Terms of ReferencePETERBOROUGH CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE’S STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
1. Purpose
To provide strategic leadership for children and young people’s services in Peterborough.
2. Aims & Objectives
The Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership (CYPSP) aspires to make real improvements in the lives of children and young people in Peterborough. The CYPSP will aim to improve outcomes for children and young people in the following areas: Be healthy: enjoy good physical and mental health and live a healthy lifestyle Stay safe: be protected from harm and neglect and grow up being able to look after themselves Enjoy and achieve: get the most out of life and develop broad skills for adulthood
Make a positive to the community and to society and not engage in anti-social or contribution: offending behaviour Achieve economic so that they have a good start in life and are able to achieve their full well being potential and secure employment
3. Activities
The CYPSP will:

4. Partnership Structure The CYPSP is part of Greater Peterborough’s local strategic partnership structure and reports directly to the Greater Peterborough Partnership (GPP) Board. The Chair of the CYPSP will sit on the GPP Board and GPP Executive Group. The CYPSP will be supported by the following sub-groups that will oversee specific areas of strategy and implementation: Children’s Strategic Partnership (Birth – 13) Young People Strategic Partnership (13 – 19) Transformation Group The Chairs of these groups will sit on the CYPSP. The structure, terms of reference, membership and activity of sub-groups will be reviewed annually by the partnership. 5. Membership The CYPSP will operate via a core of key members while sustaining and communicating with a wider stakeholder group. Members should be of sufficient seniority to give agreement to commit resources and actions on behalf of their organisations. The key members of the CYPSP will be:
The CYPSP will meet a minimum of four times per year. Agendas and supporting documents will be issued at least one working week before the meetings. Minutes will be produced and circulated within ten working days of the meeting. Peterborough City Council’s Democratic Services Department will provide administrative support to the working of the CYPSP.
Accountability The CYPSP will report to the Greater Peterborough Partnership (GPP) Board and Executive Group.
The CYPSP will be chaired by the Director of Children’s Services.
The CYPSP will review its structure, membership and activities annually and present its proposal to the GPP Board.
The CYPSP will hold at least one stakeholder conference per year, at which it will involve the wider stakeholder group in strategic planning.
