The Greater Dogsthorpe neighbourhood management project is a pilot project for tackling multiple and complex social needs across funded initiatives and public service providers. The project has secured £1.6 million from the Safer & Stronger Communities Fund, (neighbourhood element award). More here

The key aim of the fund is ‘to improve the quality of life for people living in disadvantaged neighbourhoods and to ensure that service providers are more responsive to neighbourhood needs and improve their delivery’. Neighbourhood management provides evidence from other parts of the UK that it is an effective way of tackling complex social issues. The learning centre at Perkins – a partnership approach

The Learning Partnership, in conjunction with Perkins Engines Ltd, has been successful in its application for funding from the East of England Development Agency to establish the multi-purpose learning centre at Perkins.

This collaborative approach will provide an excellent resource to tackle both current and future skills needs in Peterborough.

Along with the staff of Perkins, the centre will be accessible to their families and friends, local businesses, surrounding communities and all local partners - both providers of learning and business support agencies. Learning opportunities and other activities will cover a broad range of subjects, from vocational and personal development programmes, basic and key skills through to higher level courses and sector specific topics.  A partnership steering group will be set-up to guide the work of this exciting initiative along with Perkins.
