Peterborough’s Community Strategy 2005Peterborough’s Community Strategy was formally adopted by Peterborough City Council in December 2004. The strategy sets out a vision for a bigger and better Peterborough and outlines the plan for the future of our city and the surrounding villages and rural areas. It reflects both the agenda for growth and the clear desire to ensure that Peterborough grows the right way, so that an expanding population leads to genuine improvements in key areas. It recognises that if we are to create a bigger and better Peterborough, then we will have to deal quickly and effectively with the pressing issues of today as well as the plans for tomorrow. Growth will also mean change, not only in buildings and infrastructure but also in our communities. We need to make sure that we continue to have stability and social cohesion
and that growth leads to a cleaner and greener city. Just as importantly it is a plan for every individual in Peterborough. We can all play our part in making it succeed The strategy sets out a vision for It is the plan for the future of our city, villages and rural areas and sets out an ambitious programme of sustainable growth, designed to bring lasting improvements in the quality of life of all Peterborough’s people and communities.
